Theresa Oakes

Theresa Oakes has been part of the KTCpr family for 13 years and holds the position of account supervisor.  In this role, she is responsible for the implementation of public relations activities for the agency’s clients including creating press releases, media pitches, promotions, event management and media relations.  She also supervises junior staff members assigned to each account.

During her tenure with KTCpr, Theresa has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Caribbean marketplace having managed various industry conferences and press visits to the region.  She has worked with international press as well as regional Caribbean media outlets in the development of stories and broadcasts pertaining to the Caribbean tourism landscape.

Beyond her Caribbean focus, Theresa has developed public relations campaigns targeting the trade and consumer markets for tour operator clients who sell vacation packages around the globe.  Additionally, she has worked with clients who specialize in the vacation ownership industry and publishing companies who develop resource guides for the travel and tourism marketplace.

Theresa was associate editor for two editions of the Caribbean Vacation Planner.  Published articles have appeared in Caribbean advertorial sections in USA Today and the Newark Star-Ledger.

Theresa serves on the Board of Directors for the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island where she is the organization’s secretary and co-chair of the Young Professionals and Publicity committees.  She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications Journalism from Hofstra University.
